Valentine’s Day Purse with Heat Embossed Details

Valentine's Day Purse Heat Embossed 3D Gift1Back by popular demand! After the rave reviews of my Sparty Purse (Click here for Instructions), I resolved to use this template again to hold a special Valentine’s Day surprise for my little sister.  Happy Valentine’s Day, Makayla!

This pattern is so awesome – no trimming involved! Just score and fold, then glue and embellish!  I modified by pinching the sides and adding the lid (made with a Label Collection Framelit, then trimmed).  Incredibly versatile way to create a standard box or purse.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TECHNIQUE: Origami Butterfly
1. Cut two 2-inch squares from Designer Series Paper.
2. Position paper square on the diagonal, printed side down.  Fold square on the diagonal, wrong sides facing (Fig. 1).
3. With fold positioned at bottom, fold triangle in half (Fig.2); unfold.
4. Fold top of triangle down (Fig. 3) so that top point extends somewhat below bottom edge (Fig. 4).
5. Fold sides down on the diagonal (Fig. 4).  Resulting shape should look like butterfly wings (Fig. 5).
TIP: Use the Bone Folder at each step to get a tight crease.  This will help with the bulk of multiple layers of folding.
