Take Two: Masculine Cards with Well Worn DSP

Following the same basic layout, I used Well Worn DSP to create two masculine greeting cards.  I took a few progress photos so you could see my planning process in action.  Don’t forget to keep your eye on the Clearance Rack for special deals – this designer series paper was less than five bucks! score!

For a clean and simple birthday card, I paired an intricate pattern from Comfort Cafe DSP with Cajun Craze Cardstock.  Simple embellishments and a clean salutation pull it together to create a sweet birthday card.

For a quick and simple Thank You card, I started with a gorgeous and colorful pattern from the Tea for Two DSP.  With the contrasting colors and patterns in the paper, I didn’t need to add much to create a sweet card.

Print Poetry DSP for a Starry Birthday

Print Poetry DSP is a great new designer series paper stack found in the Spring 2013 catalog.  Among my favorite prints, is this one that reminds me of Van Gogh’s A Starry Night.  With intricate details and small crumb cake hearts, I created this Birthday Card using a complementary polka dot pattern also from the Print Poetry DSP.  The adorable embellishment is a Designer Builder Brad customized for the occasion using the cupcake stamp from the Itty Bitty Wood stamp set and adhered between the builder brad pieces.  So fun!

In this project, I heat embossed the main tree element using the Classic Stampin’ Ink (Always Artichoke Stampin’ Pad) and Emboss Powder Clear.  It added subtle texture to a Clean and Simple sympathy card.  The Striped Organdy ribbon creates a streamlined embellishment.

A Special Anniversary

I made this special card for my husband on our four-year wedding anniversary this month.  Using a masculine pattern from the Pocketful Of Posies DSP (Now on Clearance for $2.19), I layered subtle textures in a soft color palette.  I was even able to sneak in some purple. It has always been our color :)
