In this feminine floral birthday card, I paired Rose Red Cardstock and Tangerine Tango Cardstock. I love the four-corner layout jazzed up with the Scallop Punch element, Perfect Polka Dots Folder and Floral District Designer Series Paper. This layout was inspired by Mojo Monday #249

Happy Birthday to my beautiful sister, Makayla!

Sunday Share: How I Found My Passion

All Wedding-Related Invitations- Save Date, RSVP card, Shower, Wedding

My husband and I were married in January 2009, and for this event I enlisted the help of my mom to create all of the invitations and mailings.

Purple was my color!  Even on the invitations we were able to use purple accents in an elegant way.  Just Gorgeous!

I love that my wedding photographer thought to take pictures of these details! They are preserved forever in pictures!

Wedding Invitations – Made by My Mom & Me

I was a complete novice in the world of cardmaking, so we found these kits at Michaels and modified them to our style and colors.  We even used the extra embellishments to jazz up some votive holders for the centerpieces.  My mom’s printer didn’t run clean paper for months after this project! Sorry Mom! :)

Extra Embellishments

I put even more handmade touches into my special day… here is a picture of a beaded purse I knitted.  I wanted to create a family heirloom…now I just have to hope for a daughter someday to pass it along to.  I used size 00 needles and seed beads.  Quite a project!

Strawberries for Mom

Homemade Strawberries! I love using the conventional shapes to create something unexpected. In this birthday card for my Mom, I used the Full Heart Punch and Perfect Polka Dot Folder to create this strawberry with the Little Leaves Sizzlits. I even made a mini strawberry for the inside of the card! It was really fun to give this card to my Mom yesterday for her birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!

NEW Firm Foam Stampin’ Pads

As you know, Stampin’ Up! released its new Firm Foam Stampin’ Pads with the 2012-2013 Annual Catalog kick off on June 1st.  Everyone at Stampin’ Up! is CRAZY about this new formulation.  There are a few important tips that I would like to pass along to my fellow Stampers:

  • These Pads provide better ink coverage for your stamps.  A light-tap stamping produces flawless images!
  • Create wonderfully solid images. The Firm Foam releases more ink onto your rubber stamp than the felt pads. When using the Firm Foam pad, your stamp will get an even, solid covering of ink that you may not have been able to achieve with the felt pads. Please note: if you are using the ink pad frequently you may need to re-ink your Firm Foam pad more often. We recommend that you purchase a refill at the time of your ink pad purchase.
A few of my Favorite Features:
  • Crisply printed, glossy label on the top of the pad that is easier to read and that will not fade or chip off!
  • Color name labels included for four languages (English, Spanish, French, and German)–just choose your language, peel it off the back, and add it to the side of the pad for easy identification!
  • The same patented flip-top case design that stores the inking surface upside down, so the pad surface stays moist!
  • The firm foam is nice and flat and will not become wavy.
  • The firm foam material is soft and has a nice bounce to it. It’s not hard like the felt is.
  • The ink lay-down (how the ink is absorbed into the card stock) is even, not blotchy, and dries quickly. It has an increased opacity and stamps solid images beautifully.
  • Available in all colors, including our exclusive In Colors!

Q: Do old Classic Stampin’ Ink Refills work with the new firm foam pads?
A: Yes, with the exception of 5 ink colors which have been reformulated to work with the new foam pad material. We do not recommend using old ink refills in these colors with the new firm foam pads.  These colors are:

  • Basic Black
  • Basic Gray
  • Marina Mist
  • Perfect Plum
  • Tempting Turquoise

All five colors of the reformulated inks have been fully tested and approved. While using the new ink formula in the old Stampin’ Pads is fine, we do not recommend using the old ink formula for these five colors in the new firm foam pads. Any refills purchased after April 30, 2012, will contain the new formulated ink.

Q: My pad is too wet. What should I do?
A: The closer to the manufacture date, the juicer the pad will be. As the pad ages, this problem will fade. In the meantime, very light tapping will reduce the extra ink on the stamp. You can also use a paper towel to blot the area of the stamp pad that you will be using.

Q: How long will the pad last before I need to re-ink it?
A: The amount you use it will affect how often you need to re-ink. Please keep in mind that these pads release a lot more ink onto your stamp, resulting in a crisp, solid image. Since the pads release more ink, they will need to be refilled more often.

Important Note:

We are working on an issue with the Basic Black Classic Stampin’ Pad (item 126980). We have discovered that the ink smears when stamped on Whisper White and Very Vanilla Card Stock; however, it still works on the other colors of card stock. We are testing both the ink and card stock. At this time, we do not know when this issue will be resolved and recommend using the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad (item 101406) on Whisper White and Very Vanilla Card Stock. We are working on this daily and will let you know when we have more information.

Marina Mist Sympathy

Marina Mist Sympathy1I paired Marina Mist Cardstock and Always Artichoke Cardstock for a subtle and soothing sympathy card.  My dear neighbor recently lost her grandson in a car accident and I hope this card will show her how much my family cares for her and prays for her family.

Gorgeous & Girlie Birthday

Gorgeous & Girlie Birthday

This birthday card is for my little cousin, Bree.  She is turning 9 this month and I am so excited to give her this card!

I layered Mixed Bunch flowers (Blossom Punch) with Dimensionals and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint alcohol spray to make the front full of eye-popping fun.  The inside features the peek-a-boo structure, with Itty Bitty Bits Wood stamped flowers and Every Little Bit Wood girlie stamps – purse & tiara – of course!  I loved the sayings from the Bring on the Cake Wood stamp set.

Happy Birthday, Bree!

Featuring: Debra’s Peek-A-Boo Boy Birthday Card

At last week’s stamp camp, we created our own Peek-A-Boo cards.  This is Debra’s creation for her young nephew.  I love the Pacific Point….in varying textures and dimensions!  The Blue Ribbon stamp set was a great choice for this layout.  What a great idea!  Thanks for sharing, Debra!

Summertime with Melon Mambo

Summertime Melon Mambo

Using my One Sheet Wonder DSP from yesterday, I created this Congratulations card.  I layered Old Olive Cardstock, Melon Mambo Cardstock and Calypso Coral Cardstock to bring out the coordinating inks in my custom DSP.

This card truly highlights the stamping craft.  So often we are lost in embellishments and fancy tools.  With this card I returned to the foundation of my love of cardmaking….STAMPING! :)
